Welcome to the Thakeham Morris website.
We are a small West Sussex side, dancing in the Costwold style. We aim to dance out on Wednesday evenings during the Summer months, usually outside a pub in one of the local villages. We also can be seen performing at various local fairs and events. Hopefully you will get to see us sometime over the summer. Our programme for 2013 is under construction and we will update this site as it develops.
As stated above, we are a small side, and often have to turn down invitations to dance, as enough dancers aren't available on the requested dates. We hate disappointing people and would like to be able to dance out more often. In order to do that, we need more members. So if you live in the area and would like to have a go (either as a dancer or musician), please get in touch.Thakeham have traditionally started the season by dancing at Chantry Post on the South Downs at dawn on May the 1st. Unfortunately, due to lack of available dancers, we will not be able to do it this year. Instead we will be dancing at sundown at the Sportsman in Amberley.
